OT (Isn't everything on this board - or is it bored?)

Sosa brought 50,000 to the ballpark on Monday night. Yes, it was unused ticket night but many folks came to see Sosa. In addition to receiving a standing ovation before the game, Sosa brought the fans to their feet each time he batted. In Sosa's first plate appearance the crowd booed Padres pitcher Hitchcock when he fell behind in the count. Can you believe that? The local fans booed their own pitcher because they wanted to see Sosa swing. And swing he did as he struck out four times that night. San Diego won the game in exciting style, 4-3, as Hoffman got his 50th save. "Oh, Doctor!" as Jerry Coleman would say.

Tonight's game starts at 7:35 and I'll be there with bells on. Ditto tomorrow's afternoon game.
