Richard, this is about sex. He lied about sex. I wonder how many men would lie if their spouse asked them. Or would they say, "Honey, I had a terrific day at the office, the secretary gave me a nice blow job". I think if you were going to remove every politician in the US from office who has lied about sex (under oath or otherwise), then Capitol Hill would be a lonely place! With the recent stories about Catholic priests (and other denominations) covering up sexual abuse for 20 years, the public is accustomed to people lying to cover up sex. Not that this makes it right. Right now the press needs to keep this story alive to sell newspapers, tv and internet ads. Until something more interesting comes along on a global scale. If they dropped this story for 2 weeks, no one would remember or care. Kennedy had the (good) fortune to get shot but how many remember his sexual exploits and those were more conservative times. The press doesn't like to carry stories of terrible suffering. What are they going to show for an hour - people getting shot and blood pouring out of there wounds, people dying of starvation or drowning. Nah, a quick headline is OK but too much and people get depressed. People love soap operas. Just tune in any weekday. This is a great soap opera. Can't wait for it to come out on video!
