There is nothing wrong with competing vigorously and winning through innovation - and integration.

Do you think the FTC would allow 3DFX to integrate a Pentium Core onto a VooDoo chip?

You bet they would !


I'm no libertarian, but I think that the government is not above hypocrisy in these matters. There will be some who will cry foul at Intel's integration efforts, and there will be some in the government who will listen.

Did you know about the complaints raised up against Jeff Gordon when, under seemingly impossible conditions, he came from behind and won a race? Responding to those complaints, the officials impounded his car for inspection into cheating. Jeff Gordon was later absolved of these charges, but you can bet that he'll still be attracting suspicious looks, whether he deserves them or not.

The same thing could happen to Intel.
