VC, I have no idea how this will effect NNS. Perhaps others here will respond too. My first instinct says that it will take alot of advertising dollars and man hours to catch NNS on a global scale. Although there is definately merit to anything "free" on the net.

It might be a threat, but, it would take a huge promotion and some substantial analytical backing to get the support which Nanny has built. Nanny has become the premiere name Globally, brand name recognition, comes from who is supporting it(US congress), alliances(Netpartners, Netscape, Microsoft, etc.) and distribution channels(too many to mention). There are tons of free shareware programs out there, but many of them don't get any support.
