In discussion with others, I felt exactly the same way - he's not about to tip his hand.
Tony's first post to Bob Z. was pretty much a direct read of what I heard Greenspan say. Don't see how it could be viewed as "spinning".

celery, imho, the reason you heard the commentary say that is b/c greenspan didn't. he will not lower rates at the next meeting. I GUARANTEE IT.

after that, who knows what happens.

japan has rates below 1% and their stock market is 60%+ off its highs...
