Mark: you said, "That pretty much sums it up. Kind of reminds me of Sega when the 32X came out
and then the Saturn. If either product had made it to the market earlier it would have
made money." This is crazy talk. Saturn was first to market with a true next-gen system. They screwed themselves by making an API for Saturn that was hard to program for. They basically got no 3d party support. They were also wildly expensive at the beginning, though not as bad as the old 3DO when it came out. To be successful in the elec. ent. business, you have to be cost effective, garner support, be easy to work with (people and hardware), and offer the right product at the right time.

Comparing TDFX to Sega is just backwards. V2 hardware is well supported, easy to write to, and was clearly the right product at the right time.

Patrick: what makes you think that TDFX has lost its technology edge? I don't believe that all that R&D money is being thrown to Banshee. I believe that TDFX is working on the next gen stuff. Its just that (surprise!) they ain't tellin' us what it is!

Patrick: I am still curious as to where you got the 9 month dev time for TNT?
