JVC to develop Digital S-native NLE?
Indications are that JVC (Stand 8.308) could be developing a Digital S-native nonlinear editing system. JVC wouldn't comment on whether such a system would also be DVCPro compliant - which is a possibility considering both JVC and Panasonic are owned by Japanese parent company Matsushita.
New products shown at this year's show include the Digital S BR-D92 recorder and BR-D52 player. These new VTRs bring four-channel independent audio to the Digital S range which means that users can use four microphones to capture four separate audio signals.

The BR-D92 offers front panel editing control of any RS-422 capable studio VTR and it features video pre-read, allowing the editor to perform special effects like layering and dissolves using two VTRs and an effects unit.

JVC also launched the DY-90 (a lightweight Digital S camcorder) and the KY-D29W widescreen camera. The latter is switchable from its native 16:9 aspect ratio for traditional 4:3 and can shoot in lighting as low as 0.35 lux

Billy, you speak about " credibility " but you talk from both sides of your mouth. The " Smart Money " and real astute professional money managers who lurk on these threads know what posts are credible.
You provide excellent fundamental information on C-Cube, but you are oblivious to the great risks and dangers in being long Cube. Try being objective. I cannot " console " you here as I did in the Summer of 97, when I was long Cube, when I suffered the pre-announcement of an earnings shortfall with you in May, and I bought more near the bottom. Your praises at the time, which are well documented here, were just as biased then as they are now:

One of the factors in determining credibility is the ability to look at an investment from many different points of view and to be able to make money on the security long AND short. Here you have a lot to learn and the Pros know it. The sore Cube losers will certainly come to your defense and console you. But the stock price sure tells a different story.
