Frank,

once I made money with SIII, long time ago, bought @14, missed the 24$ peak, then sold @18. Glad I did. I sold SIII, after I told to SIII folks at the CeBit Technology fair in Hannover and asked why people buy SIII products. The answer was "For price". That answer didn't satisfy me, as I thought it leads to low margin.

I like to own stocks with a leadership position in their field, that provide somme barrier to other competitors entry. I believe this is the way to keep margins/earnings up.

So my qustion, has TDFX the leadership position in graphics chips? Yes, then hold the stock. No, then sell!

I sold Xircom with loss, when 3COM enterted their card bus bizz. 3Com has more marketing muscle, and will dominate. So I had a looser, and sold it.

I understand tdfx is a young company and management may know more about graphics than the stock market, or to treat analysts. That's right with me.

As long as they push newer, better products out the door, i don't mind a missed quarter. We Silicon investors know since years the too much demand - too much inventory and vice versa cycles. They are human nature. So market timimg will not work. Just good profitable growth stocks will.

Good luck to us longs.
