The drop today is probably because of Oracle. It got its first win in europe over SAP in selling its Comtrak enterprise software to a major telecom reseller.

SAP is also very richly valued, at approx. 80x 1998 and 60x 1999 projected earnings. With a projected 99/98 growth rate of approx. 40%,
80x earnings is pretty steep. (PEG is steep, but not unusual for a market leader at present).

There's probably a lot of nervousness due to the limited upside and possibly large downside in the current valuation.
