I'm and independent. At present, given the Republican treatment of this issue, and general intransigence at the moment (in contrast to their interesting and invigorating stance before and after the 94 election), I'm intending to vote straight democratic for Congress this year.

I think D'Amato is history. And not just because I won't be voting for him. I don't even care if the particular Republican hasn't been especially obnoxious on this Clinton bashing (though D'Amato certainly has -- he stopped a bit late when he started reading some tea leaves). I think that's the way the NYC suburbs are going to go -- and they are generally NY State's swing area in national elections.
