Seuss, sorry to here of your problems. I've been using Datek since I've began trading and haven't had a problem with them, though I've seen posts from others who have. ENVY is hammering me right now as well, but I expect it to retreat again. It's been up everyday on weak volume. With 3mln shares short, I believe someone is trying to force a squeeze (and it's working!) I'm hanging in there as well. Probably add more once it appears to have peaked. Good luck

That seems one small advantage of Datek. Never been bought in. Executions and cancellations of orders are quick. This is only true for NASD. AMEX and NYSE may take awhile, for whatever reason. If that happend, I was out immediately. Unauthorized Trading: In the Datek thread I read that Datek was arbitrated for "unauthorized trading". Posters pointed out that this may refer to buy-ins. We should look whether E-Trade has been fined yet and whether that's a possible way for you to get back money. Chris

<< Today, I had a margin call from yesterday due to a few overlapping trades.....I got a call from Etrade saying I had to take care of it by Monday. I pointed out that as soon as my trades clear, I would be fine. The person agreed and apologized for bothering me. 45 minutes later, some schmuck covered 400 shares of my ALTIF. This time the broker said something is wrong and they would call me back tomorrow. I am getting pissed at these on-line brokers. Sorry for the rant. I'm just pissed. Dr. Seuss>> Doc I feel your pain. About a year and a half ago I closed my Etrade acct and vowed never to reopen i have not since To make it quick-they never emailed me a margin call-i called because I believed I should have gotten a margin call and feared they would liquidate I did -it turns out I had a margin call-I wired the money at 5pm-spoke to the margin dept notifying them the money will be there before market open It got ther 9am-at 930 they liquidated odd lots of my portfolio I %^&$#@(*) cursed the shit out of them-put in a written complait-and never got dick never again etrade and definitrely no margin Instigator
