We don't have the figures for this quarter, nor the reason, so it's hard to say. We have R&D costs, launch costs for banshee, possible screwover by Diamond... Point is, we don't know really know the entire story. 3dfx has no control over the retail channel at this time... and V2 prices are still high (higher than they should be, since board makers didn't seem to pass on the savings to consumers). Ultimately, 3dfx will have to get into the board business to avoid this. My bet is that they'll go with Quantum3d which has been building up their distribution network nicely, of late.

When I invest in a company, it is because of its long-term prospects. I want to own a part of their future success, not just to make a profit by selling their stock 2 years down the road. I'll be increasing my position in the stock over the next several weeks. I wish you luck even if you choose to close your position. Either of us could be wrong, but I think I found the one company that can truly succeed in a vision of the future I share with them.
