New opportunities and signs of a slow down

<<''There's a big opportunity here with the new companies as
well as the incumbents that have to transition to the new
world,'' analyst Levy said.>>

There is a gold mine in the above statement. The above is one of the reason I have invested in IDTC.

Also, on a micro economic/arm chair observation. I live a stones throw from, Teltrend, Westel, Telabs, 3COM (COMS has halted construction and on new area head quarters for the consolidation of US Robotics), and Motorola, all are or have been experiencing a down trend in biz. In addition, the help wanted ads in the Chicago area for hardware engineers is smaller then I have seen it for awhile. Plus Bells labs (lucent), Fermi lab, and Argon is also in the area too, little to no help wanted ads from them. Therefore, talk of a slow down appears to be real in my neck of the woods.

Also, from briefing.com

08:44 ET Alcatel Alsthom (ALA) 31 5/16: Shares of world's 4th-largest telecom equipment maker fell 30% in France and indicated sharply lower on the NYSE after company said won't meet earnings estimates this year. Firm attributes difficulties to cutback in spending by European customers, due to Asian economic woes. News pummeled French market (-5.7%), as investors fear further fallout from slumping Asian economies.
