My broker suggest that Edpar Brascam may want the dividend.
I also had e-mail from NOR that the div will likely decrease by the amount of the div paid by spin-off of NF and Canadian Hunter.

Not many pure metals have as nice a dividend. PD has a 4% div. But PD CONTINUALLY has problems with the union. IAL is an aluminum stock w/ 4.2% div. I don't follow it tho.
One has to look at the potential output of the Peruvian mine that Noranda will be a key player in, with ore having a very high yield it stands to produce billions, provided all goes well. Remember rebels constantly blow up roads and water lines to gold mines in Peru!
