He "fessed up to it" the day before Salon printed the story. The story did quote the principals involved. And they still are mad about it. According to her daughter, the woman herself is outraged at Hyde's hypocrisy and grandstanding.

Why make a big deal about a 30-year-old extramarital affair? Why make a big deal about a 20-year land deal?

I live in Chicago, very close to Hyde's district. His actions and language are pretty creepy. I have little faith--as the national media seems to have--that he'll remain balanced and nonpartisan throughout these proceedings.

No Michael. No-one looked at Dole and Clinton and voted for Bill as a moral leader. Sex,lying, drugs, and all morality were dead issues durig the election. It is a shame to have these revisited.

More important to speak to is the attack on the presidency ( not the man ... the office)

Justice Wright ruled that giving depostion in the Jones case would not distract the presidential office.

Three Justices oversaw Starr and didn't curb the change from "independant counsel" into "independant prosecutor."

Never in my lifetime has the judicial branch activily sought so much political power.
