Briefing.com on 3COM:

When the rumor mill starts spinning, speculators seize every opportunity to lift stock prices... Which is why Intel announcement that it has started shipping samples of its single-chip home networking solution was spark enough to reignite rumor that chip maker is ready to make an acquisition in the networking arena -- namely 3Com (COMS +2 7/8)..

Sorry if already posted as this is a day old.

David,

>>3Com's chart hasn't looked this bullish since April '97, when it began it's rally from the low $30's to the upper $50's.<<

I remember those days. I first got into COMS at around 38
way back then. I remember reading a full page article in Business Week about COMS in spring of '97. I remember
how fast it went from low 30's (or lower) to high 40's.

Back then, I think COMS was down for a relatively short time,
at least compared to this year. Did you guys think it
was going to come back up at that point? And were
you surprised at how fast it rebounded or had you expected
it? For a lot of folk, I suspect it didn't feel like
a rebound, since in Jan-Feb COMS was around $80.

joe

From a vantage point of one more day's action, doesn't the chart now look like a failed triple top breakout. If earnings do not top the whisper number, it looks like a quick trip back down to $25.
