Welcome back, TW, and best of luck on your new venture. Just for possible discussion, I'm bringing over a post from today's AOL MF from a guy that has been alternatively loved and hated on that sometimes emotional board: Subject: Brush Aside Date: 9/16/98 11:28 AM Pacific Daylight Time From: Norris 71 Message-id: <19980916142817.09358.00000277@ng89.aol.com> Note: Please skip this post if you want good news on THQI <g> Given the action these past few days and what fundamental info has been revealed, I think that short term investors (possibly long term) might exit THQI until things look rosier ahead. There are currently several clouds over THQI's head right now and those clouds don't appear to be going away anytime soon. Anytime there are "clouds" over a stock, the market gives that stock a large discount for its p/e ratio. That is one reason we've been trading in these low numbers. Secondly, the debt offering isn't something to brush aside so easily. Yes it was cancelled but not for the right reasons. When a company announces a debt offering and then quickly changes their mind, it usually means they'll choose another avenue of dilution (i.e. secondary). I personally think THQI's growth will slow considerably these coming quarters. The SEC investigation isn't exactly a plus and it's also something that investors shouldn't "brush aside." If it were as easy as checking the dates as to when a sell was filed and when they knew about the WCW loss, there wouldn't be an investigation. The SEC has lately been cracking down on the companies and even if it won't have a material effect (if any at all) on operations, investors don't want their money in companies that are being investigated by the SEC. Back in March, some investors here even realized how THQI Executives had cheated a bit. Three insiders conveniently sold February 26th, 27th, and March 2nd. The stock collapsed the 11th. The SEC ain't dumb guys... And a third reason I would sell is the chart. It looks ugly. 15-15.50 is probably the best price you'll get in awhile. I see this one re-testing 12s easy and perhaps the extreme to 9. That will depend on how earnings turn out to be. (The selling of the newly acquired subsidiary also doesn't make me feel too good. Too many unknowns in this equation and the chart is dying here....). Conservatively Yours, Raymond J. Norris
