george, thanks for the thoughts. it will be interesting to see what happens. i don't see it based on mr g's statements. if he does then he has a h*ll of a poker face, so to speak.

I agree with your hypothesis. IMHO the long bond and the inverted yield curve give the Fed the leeway to bring down FF, which would lead to a more normalized yield curve.
I also agree that long rates would likely rise modestly upon a rate cut - as such a move would be perceived as stimulative.
