jach,

I understand You'd like to buy csco cheaper than today. Who, would disagree!

But which valuation criteria do You apply, to come to your expressed conclusion?

Regards Lutz

Jach,

A rebuttal to your points;

<1. Juniper product seems to be good and can take some revenue out of the very profitable 12000 line>

12000 line has been shipping for over a year. Solid customer base already exists. Market for Core routers way more limited than edge routers. Juniper will have zero impact to CSCO's bottom line.

2. In Cat5000 enterprise arena; 3Com, Bay, and a host of othet GB startups are squeezing margins out of Cisco; based on their products shipment news it seems that some GB starups getting some significant contracts in the enterprise switch market>

Cat 5xxx is at a $ 2 billion dollar run rate. If anyone can afford a price war, it's CSCO, with those volumes. Although GB is the talk, the money's still in FE. And CSCO has a dominant position in enterprise switched ethernet market.

<3. In the WAN SP field, Ascend 500/550 and FORE 4000, at this point are more powerful than the current csco ATM switches These are also the key revenue generating areas for csco.>

Product leadership is short-lived in this industry. CSCO MGX 8800 will leap-frog ASND and FORE when it ships.

Buy now, avoid the rush ...

Cheers,

Peppe
