Michael, The Chinses are awash with $ reserves so i think they will be fine. Interest rates will fall in the USA to give other currencies a leg up and this will make their currencies go up and the apparent price of gold will fall thus making the US$ price of gold rise and the Indonesian/Thailand/?? price of gold fall in local currencies leading to a resurgence of consumption in Asia..
1930s will be skipped, I agree.

Bill

Michael,

I have no idea what is up although I suspect it has something to do with access to the asset in case of default. A bankruptcy specialist would know better.

Sincerely,
