I actually agree that Gingrich has a lot of interesting, and very creative policy formulations. He also comes up with some horrors. He can be a vicious, and unreasonable attack dog.

My ultimate take is that he is interesting, and sometimes infuriating, and cannot be trusted. But is worth listening to.

I think his contract with America was a very useful legislative challenge to Democrats, and led to some very useful and important compromises. Most importantly the balanced budget. (For which Clinton's preceding tax increase primarily on those with the highest incomes was also necessary, both for the numbers, and for the political consensus to be possible. Despite how much Republicans tend to hate all taxes always.)

Doesn't mean I agree with all of it, or how the Republicans, if given full rein, would have implemented all of it.
