<<<FOCUS-Analysts see no Ericsson profit-warning
By Adam Jasser
HELSINKI, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Shares in telecom equipment
makers across Europe took a roller-coaster ride on Wednesday
after market talk of an imminent profit warning at Swedish giantEricsson .

The shares partly recovered after Ericsson said it was not
withholding any senstive information, and analysts poured cold
water on the rumours, saying no profit-warning was likely before
Ericsson's third quarter report next month

Analysts also said companies focused on mobile telephony
could prove more resistant to any global slowdown than many
other sectors because of still huge demand in developed
countries and many emerging markets.

Analysts said investors might have been additionally
unnerved by Tuesday's announcement by the world's sixth largest
telecom company Nortel that it would cut staff,
implying that global fixed-network investment might slow. >>>
