Bishop says outlook brightens

Robert Bishop, writing in the Sept. 9, 1998 edition of his Gold Mining Stock
Report, says a recent uptick in the price of Western Copper Holdings can be
attributed to a recovery from oversold conditions and renewed strength in
commodity prices. Western Copper, $2.35, hit a low of $1.50 on Aug. 28. Mr.
Bishop recommended the stock in December 1997 at $3.30 on early word of a
major massive sulphide discovery at San Nicolas in Mexico. The California
junior-stock expert suggests its slide from the $10 level of February and March
can be attributed to a news vacuum over the summer. When the news dearth
ended, on Aug. 25, liquidity and higher prices failed to result. Happily, a drill
program is planned for mid-September which will focus on new targets within the
Teck joint venture. As well, WTC has been conducting a rock-resistivity survey at
its Penasquito project. Mr. Bishop sees this project gaining a profile in the coming
months.
