Hat Trick.

>iMAC sale boosts other Apple product sale by 20%!!!!! <

1) On my old job selling Macs at a smaller store (sold a system on average every other day), I always wanted to sell three systems in a day. A "hat trick" so to speak.

Well, today at Tekserve, I sold five systems: two iMacs; two 300mhz desktops/Apple Studio Displays and a 266mhz Powerbook. This was on top of a ton of service, upgrade and peripherals. Things were hopping!

Towards the end of the day, surrounded by about 20 customers waiting for their machines, I said "Did anybody hear that Apple's going out of business!?" To which everbody started laughing.

From my lowly vantage point Apple is rocking and rolling across the price/performance spectrum. (BTW, we are expecting a shipment of inexpensive 1400c Powerbooks for -- perfect for low-end users.)

2) My last political note: I figure if the market hadn't tanked, AAPL would be up over $50 by now. I blame the Republicans for at least 25% of the shortfall for the way they have weakened the Presidency in the eyes of the world for temporary political advantage.

3) Kok Chen, thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to cc a copy of the BW article to the boss. :)

This is exactly what happened to me. I went in to buy an iMac and walked out with a PowerMac.
