To Doug: Thanks. Appreciate warning re Q "holding up". Don't expect that - not at all. Assume overall market down draft in near term - and the Q will not be immune. Still expect only real Q move will occur (if it does at all) after Nov elections. Re your interest rate analysis, suggest that if you read Greenspan's testimony, all he said was that was there is no "coordinated" effort re interest rates now. Remember well the quick action he took in 1987 to pump liquidity into the US system. Will he sit idle re a major stock market decline? Maybe. But maybe not. Also while a cut in interest rates certainly will cause nothing positive in and of itself, it may not be completely meaningless. There are two things. One a symbol. And in our a world the symbol is the reality. Second only helps if other factors cause an improvement - a small potential drag removed. Not much but a bit. Chaz
