Take a look at TLC. After their recent purchase of Broderbund they might fit your criteria. Obviously they are not a MSFT, but they are a solid software company and the leader in educational software for homes and schools.

I can think of one... Adobe. But they're not as immune to global pressures as one may think. In 3Q '97 they derived over 25% of their revenue from one country... Japan. This year Japanese revenue has dropped 41%. As far as being a solid company, dominant in their sector and reasonably priced they're pretty close to meeting that criteria.

I'm not touting ADBE by the way. I sold my Calls yesterday in fact for a nice profit so I currently have no agenda... just info.
