In the book "On the Firing Line", Gil Amelio talks about his approach to marketing at Apple. One of the things he insisted on (not to say he wasn't overruled by the board) is not committing significant money to a marketing budget until Apple had a solid product worth promoting. NCD appears to be acting this way with their ThinSTAR line. I now see NCD advertising again. This time at Thinworld.com. Also, take a look at their Events schedule. Pretty busy.

As for HP/IBM...I don't feel there's any real conflict there. Is HP actually shopping around for a new OEM? The previous "announcement" with WYSE only seemed to contain quotes from...WYSE. Don't think HP ever made an official statement.
