Margaret, 3Q earnings are due out in early October. The analysts have held firm at .57 vs .47 last quarter, and .46 in 1997. You can check out the details at biz.yahoo.com. I'm surprised at the analyst's ratings; 19 of 33 rate pfe a hold.

I think the Street feels pfe is appropriately valued, and wants to see strong earnings growth before they'll let it run again. The fourth quarter should be exciting, with all the new markets that have been opened recently, and 1999 will be outstanding (since I think the analysts have severely underestimated the earnings potential of Viagra).
