GOOD Y2K INFO SITE AND SILVER REQUEST:

Greetings all.

The following is an excellent Y2K site, if someone has not already posted it.

cnet.com

8 myths about Y2K:

cnet.com

In return, could someone please offer a good thread on the discussion of Silver (if one exists). And is there an equivalent of the XAU for silver. Much appreciated.

Y'know John.... I was at that very same DCY2K Workgroup meeting and I didn't get the impression that Koskinen or the Federal Gov't had "given up" as Cory so negatively put it.

In fact, I think Koskinen was pretty open about the whole topic. He frankly admitted that some parts of the Gov't wouldn't be completely done, but felt that major systems would be online with people still working hard on the rest.

I was impressed by Koskinen, more so than with Joel Williamson of GAO who is clearly a "political creature". Koskinen was very open, down to earth, and presented his side of the story to a group of folks who personally understand what Y2K means to there separate agencies/companies.

I think Cory is filtering this event through his own doom & gloom bias. I prefer to believe that there will be many work arounds to Y2K here in the US. It won't be perfect, but we'll still be operational. Now concerning the international scene... I don't care to make a prediction.

Either way, serious malfunctions or not, all you can do is prepare for either scenario. That has been my approach to it. Hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst.

Regards,

Ron
