This amplifies the need to CNBC (and others) to always report _percentage_ gains and losses in addition to the point moves. Ideally, it should be updated real-time in the bug. At the very least, it _must_ be in the graphics when they do the market review screens. In this day and age, it's sad to continually hear the anchor go "That's x% if my mental arithmetic serves."

Wallace, << huge up and down days on CNBC >>

Put yourself in their position. There is little to discuss when one
is confined to reporting facts and unable to speculate on the airways
as we have the freedom to do on the threads. If it weren't for 'grey
matter', Monica, and meaningless opinions from MM's trying to improve their firms' positions, what's left?
I find the entire market amusing, although I've been heavily punished as of late. 1st the stock moves, then cnbc reports, then it
becomes a press release or newswire item. Oh yes, not to forget the
Silicon Investor, where we, the would be experts, having hindsight
as a weapon and compete with the foresight of institutions.

I'm sick of the comment, "The bulls and bears are fighting it out today on the floor of the NYSE". Yeah, and...the sun rose in the East today too. The day that stops happening is the one we're all in trouble.
