Are individual Muslims allowed to choose what they want to believe out of the Old Testament or did some leader spell out what one may or may not believe?

No, no Muslims believe in the current Old Testament because we don't know for sure which parts are from God and which parts are from man. Instead of risking believing a man made invention, we follow only the Qur'an. The evidence of the tampering of the Old Testament has been dealt here in detail. The later additions, the contradictions, etc. make it very clear of how the Old Testament has been lost and added to over the centuries. In fact, of the hundreds of ancient manuscripts in existence today (including the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls), no two are identical.

Moses fortold of God raising up a prophet greater than himself (Jesus) but many things still had to be fulfilled prior to Him being born in manger.

Careful. Refer to the specific verses so we can examine exactly what Moses (Pbuh) said. While he did prophesize Jesus (Pbuh), he also prophesized Muhammad (Pbuh). So if you could be a bit clearer, it would be appreciated.

God lives outside of time and already knows the beginning and the ending of all matters. Prophesies were foretold before the actual events took place but they still had to be worked out in their course.

Are you then denying God knew Jeremiah before he was formed in the womb??

Peace be unto you,
Norris
