It will be interesting to see how the regulators handle this.. I'm sure at some point Ebay will have a notice indicating what is required in regards to sales taxes, etc...

One used to go to swap meets and tax would never be addressed..but now most swap meets require sellers to have a temporary sales tax permit...(which would be filed with the sales tax collected at the swap meet) I'm sure many do not collect or send anything in... and since there is not really a "record" of the vendors sales it would be hard to track... but with the online auctions..there is a nice little record... guess one could say all of the buyers backed out..???

An accountant once told me if one deposits a check in the bank, one better be able to show the source and whether it was income generating or not... I've seen some on Ebay only allowing mail orders or certified checks..i would guess it is to try and circumvent the income tax... But Ebay will always maintain a record of that auction...
