Nice analysis, Gary. If I critique your critique, where will it end? :-) One note. The Cascade integration was difficult (e.g., lost employees, management distraction, etc.) although a good strategic move in the long-term. The ALA statement about slowed France Telecom orders really concerns me. Anyone believe in the cockroach theory? I watched stock prices for semi equip suppliers implode as orders were first deferred and then later cancelled due to overcapacity in a slower-growth world. Yes, Internet growth will continue, but a slowdown in the build-out could be devastating in the short-term to stock prices in the telecom equip industry.
