<< Personally I think worse.>> Why? Do you think that honest people can't run businesses or be effective politicians? Honest people are not necessarily like the "morals police" we have seen discussed here. There are probably even one or two honest liberals <vbg>.

Michelle, You have touched on the unspeakable common denominator in this society...ubiquitous lies. This society is rife with acceptable lies. Even the law itself contains the notion that it is lawful to lie. It is embodied in the notion "Caveat Emptor". It is also embodied in the notion of "parole evidence". Caveat Emptor states "let the buyer beware". While parole evidence basically means the court will not accept verbal agreements and therefore you must write down contractual terms. Of course there are exceptions. In this society a man's (women's) word is no longer his (her) bond. Herein, lies the essential hypocrisy of the society demanding unmitigated truth in limited circumstances and not in all circumstances. With the "Crotch Police" now on the loose, there is no telling what sewer this matter will lead us down. The Democrats and Republicans both are deathly afraid that the "crotch police" are picking steam for the November election. They are trying to head this off by stating that they will not provide funding for candidates if they attack the opposition by reference to their personal sexual escapades. Why are they doing this? Because they know there is plenty of material to be dug up and aired about members of congress and would be members. George Bush Jr. of Texas is said to now be withdrawing from the race for President in 2000 because he does not want to put his family through what the Clintons are having to go through. What skeletons are there in his closet? (that is a rhetorical question as I do not care to know the answer). Good for you for pointing out this enormous hypocrisy from the " Psalm singing sons of bitches."
