Canadian booksellers - at least the large ones are snapping up U.S. orders like hotcakes - wonder how much of this pressure is affecting AMZN? Here's a news release on the subject - would you as a U.S. resident shop a Canadian website to take advantage of the low dollar?
Comments welcome!

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1998--

CNN.com's Video-on-Demand of Testimony Allows Internet Users to View In Their Own Time

CNN.com, the first Web site to post Ken Starr's report on the World Wide Web, will videostream President Clinton's videotaped federal grand jury testimony in its entirety, live on the Internet on Monday, Sept. 21, 1998.

It is expected that the videotaped testimony will be publicly released at 9 a.m. (ET) on Monday, Sept. 21. Internet users also will be able to watch the video testimony on-demand, in their own time, after CNN.com begins the live videostreaming. In addition, a transcript of the testimony and other supporting evidence being released will be posted on the site at CNN.com/allpolitics/starr.

CNN is working with RealNetworks' Real Broadcast Network, Broadcast.com and InterVU (NASDAQ: ITVU) to serve both the live and on-demand versions of the testimony video, which will be streamed in both Windows Media and RealNetworks' formats.

AllPolitics.com's special section, Investigating the President, currently offers users the entire report of Ken Starr and the two rebuttals from the White House, as well as in-depth background information including a timeline, details on all the main players, key documents and archival news reports.

The CNN Web sites served a record 34.26 million page impressions on Sept. 11, the day that Ken Starr's report was posted on the Internet. The CNN Web sites generate more traffic and attract more unduplicated Internet users than any other company's general news and information Web sites. The CNN Web sites, which averaged 92 million page impressions per week during August 1998, consist of: CNN.com; CNNfn.com, a unit of CNN Financial News; CNNSI.com, a joint sports site with Sports Illustrated; AllPolitics.com, a U.S. political news site produced in conjunction with TIME magazine and Congressional Quarterly; CNN CustomNews, a personalized news service operated with Oracle technology; CNNenEspanol.com; CNNemPortugues.com; and Svenska CNN, a Swedish-language news site produced with Scandinavia Online.
