No sir. I believe Reagan and Bush were not implicated in any impeachable conduct. Carter I think was very clean (personally). Ford was not in office long enough to get in much trouble and Nixon was impeached although he resigned before he was convicted. Johnson and Kennedy to the best of my knowledge while not men of sterling moral character never lied under oath, etc. My theory is that Clinton is an anomoly, an aberration. He needs to be excised to demonstrate that the system works. As Thomas Finneran, Speaker of the House in the House of Reps. of the People's Republic of Massachusetts has stated in declining to be on the same stage with Bubba this evening at a fundraiser in Boston: "Mr. Clinton is a stain upon the Presidency". Hiram and everyone,

One of the standards that the framers of the U.S.
Constitution set was that the bar for impeachment
of a President would be *very* high. I have to
agree with Founding Fathers that the President
must have a strong hold on the office, otherwise
the Republic will suffer from constant popularity
polls. I may be a right wing, nutcase Republican
myself but I really thing that impeachment over
this sexual affair and a coverup (even with the
perjury in the PJ case) is a stretch. What I
really want is the last 3 Starr reports on File-
gate, Travelgate, and Whitewater. Given the
circumstantial evidence to date, I would say that
Bill and Hillary have been corrupt from day 1, and
they need to be tried for their crimes. However,
should there be no more criminal offenses outlined
by Ken Starr, I think we should cut Bubba some slack.
I know it is not a popular position to hold right
now, but I think we should avoid turning the Office
of President into a popularity contest.
