Did he mention what he had sold? Or conversely, what he is still holding most tightly? Silver? I had heard rumors he was looking into gold companies also.

I would not necessarily read this into what buffett said. he also said there were times in the past when he had a higher proportionate share of money in cash. buffett will continue to find fine investments. simply because he said he doenst find a lot out there to buy now doenst mean the stock market will crash.
on the other hand while he said he wanst calling a market top when he announced the general re merger would be carried out with shares, not cash, it, the announcement, did indeed occur just befoer a market top

How to lose 300mill in a day!

Well that would mean that the Oracle missed out on 300 mill today alone!! (Assuming today's increase of 3.1% by BRK.A )

But then he is the Oracle! He will make it back somehow!!
