Why is an expensive campaign that emphasizes V2 a good thing if everyone that wants one has already bought one?

I find it hard to believe that 3dfx would mount and expensive ad campaign and not mention their 2D/3D option somewhere in the piece(s). I think we should reserve judgement on the campaign until the we see what comes out.
