GE Medical Unveils LightSpeed Computed Tomography Scanner

NEW YORK -- General Electric Co.'s (GE) GE Medical Systems
unit introduced the GE LightSpeed QX/i, a computed tomography
scanner that is expected to provide fast and detailed images of the
human body.

In a press release Wednesday, GE Medical said the scanner has been
approved by the Food and Drug Administration and is now
commercially available.

The company said LightSpeed enables doctors to simultaneously
capture multiple images of a patient's anatomy six times faster than
traditional single-slice scanners.

GE Medical provides medical diagnostic imaging equipment and
services.

I just read a post on the Yahoo thread that the HeartScan sale fell through. Can anyone confirm? This is very bad news. Many of us were concerned that Lifetest could not get financing. Frankly, I don't understand why anyone would want to buy it because it is such a money loser. What else can go wrong now?
