<"All of the sudden, one of the BIG Telcos (LU, Ericsson, ...) will jump in and make a bid in the hi 30's. ASND has no choice but to accept, the shareholders are tired of the roller coaster ride. And they all live happily ever after.">

There is no way Ascend sells for the high 30's. The prospects are far to great for this company. Yes, maybe the stock drifts down. Maybe even into the low 30's, but based on the huge projected growth of the telco equiptment market in the next few years, estimated at 650 BILLION by 2001 there is just no way that anyone gets tired and gives this gem up for anything below 50.
Mory was offered 35 a year ago, when the stock was way down in the dumps. Now that things are pumping along, why would he sell in the "High 30's"?

He mockingly suggested a price of 100.00. I think somewhere between 50 and 100 is more like it.
