>>I was only responding to your assertion that what Doug said regarding consensual sex was incorrect.<<

I should have indicated that my response was more generic. I react to the consensual sex term. I rate it with the 40 million dollars, its only about sex and everyone is out to get the president mantras. They originate in the white house and then all of a sudden millions of Americans start to repeat them. I am not saying Doug's posts fall into this category although they are political IMO.

Why is this a problem? He is in no way obligated to any intern to help them get work.He may if he so chooses help a lover in the manner that he did

The President should hold himself to a high standard. He should avoid situations that can be misinterpreted.

Do you really believe that monica was in this for promotions?

I just picked up the novel today and still have quite a bit of reading to do. I do not have a fix on what Monika's intentions are/were yet. I think there is more to it than a love affair. So far it seems like pretty light reading. The attacks on Starr seem unwarranted and the moral indiscretions seem over rated. Maybe the good stuff comes later on. <g>

The lies in the Paula Jones case and the grand jury merit scrutiny IMO. There has to be accountability on these issues.

I have said all along that BC lied in this case and under oath .As some long time readers of this and other threads know I believe that these questions should never have been asked in the first place.

In the final analysis I think we should put the nation first. Clinton is still worried about himself. He knows he lied under oath too. How we got here does not concern me as much as the fact we are here. You and I and a very large percentage of the American population believe he lied in the Paula Jones case. I do not think we can come to a resolution as long as he maintains the lie. The longer he waits the more difficult it will be for congress to show merci. As the votes are being counted he will be saying ok, ok I lied, now lets move on, the American people are tired of this. He is dragging the nation down with his selfishness.

I have relegated his crimes to the likes of jay walking not impeachable offences

The state of the nation is evidence of the seriousness of the crime. It is closer to jaywalking and not looking before you cross the street. He rolled the dice and lost.

Jay walking in Boston.....No harm... no ticket...the democrats

Jay walking in Los Angeles..No harm..a ticket..the republicans

Jay walking on a free way..major problem..big ticket..Clinton
