It's a shame that CIEN, one of the most successful IPO's in history, is suitable for only those portions of one portfolio kept in a lottery money mayonaise jar. <G>

But alas, now I understand why tech stocks make such great put candidates after a huge run-up. I like the way the fundamentals on CIEN changed practically overnight.

I am also considering buying CIEN with lottery money but I have resisted because these stocks usually astound investors by selling off further during tax loss season. I suspect you are betting someone will buyout CIEN before tax loss selling really kicks in. Should be interesting to see which company will stick their neck out along with their stock price to try and acquire CIEN.

I bought a couple of helpings of SHVA at 8 1/8. Thought about another experience I had -- sold it at 8 1/2 right before earnings.

I'm putting in my limit order for CIEN @ 7. <g>

Good luck with CIEN.
