The political system may not be perfect and certainly neither are the politicians, but this is better than many other alternatives like for example a dictatorship where some selfish ass takes ALL the money and freedom away from his people or leads them astray down some insane path to destruction.

The standard of living in any country is strongly tied to the political system and politicians there....trying to separate the 2 is unreasonable.

Is that right. My brother goes to Israel nearly every year and he has told me a few interesting stories. I guess everything is relative however at the top of the list, the threat of war hanging over my head so close to home for my entire life does not appeal to me. The whole middle-east is one of the most potentially explosive places on the planet IMO.

Too much CNN? No, just starting to realize that many throughout the world are not as fortunate as we are in Canada, which is largely BECAUSE of the political system we DO have and decisions our leaders have made.
