While I agree with the premise that a combined order in the
amount of $557,000 is relatively insignificant in pure dollar
terms, I fail to understand why such companies would throw
their money away on a "totally useless" product.

If you were an exec in either company (TU or Media One),
would you have approved this purchase? I didn't think so.
Which begs the question...so why did they? I don't know
about you, but I try not to spend money on worthless junk, no
matter the accompanying incentives, coupons, etc. Let's
say that $557,000 of these corporate funds is equivalent
to $100 out of your pocket (on a good trading day!).
How eager are you to throw away $100? You must take the
management of these two companies for fools.
