Connected Systems is First to Add VoIP to
Integrated Voice Processing Systems; Unique hybrid configuration heralds a new level ofintegration and cost-effectiveness

September 22, 1998
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE) via NewsEdge
Corporation -- The brand new world of
integrated voice processing systems has
advanced again. Supplanting the traditional
PC systems of a year ago, the first fully
integrated voice mail and Voice-over-IP
gateway systems have arrived.

In booth 557 at the Computer Telephony
Demo/Expo in the Javits Center in New York
City, Connected Systems showcases its
award-winning open-standards SimpliCT voice
processing product line. Connected Systems
has taken SimpliCT a step further by
integrating Voice-over-IP gateway capability.
By adding VoIP to the ubiquitous SimpliCT
voice processing platform, Connected
Systems has enabled its OEM customers to
extend their solutions into the voice
networking arena.

"An OEM's SimpliCT purchase can now be
leveraged into a VoIP product, " explains
Anthony Bladon, executive vice president of
Connected Systems. "Use of our field-proven
products solves the three biggest "
get-it-to-market" headaches for a VoIP
gateway: PBX integrations, worldwide
homologations, and user expectations of free
internet calling! Low cost IP trunks for the
small PBX are finally within reach."

In booth 557, in the first-ever demonstration
of VoIP on a SimpliCT base, Connected
Systems' partner VSR debuts their iPBX
Gateway. This system provides 2-4 ports of
low-cost H.323 compliant VoIP and integrates
to over 150 PBXs. VSR's gatekeeper functions
reside on the same SimpliCT unit, eliminating
the need for a separate server.
