Let's just think about this a little bit (which I did with my brother yesterday, who is interested in Lucent). Value Line looks for Lucent and Northern to grow the exact same percentage in the foreseeable future - 25.5%. Looks for Lucent to make $1.65 this calendar year, Northern $1.95. Yet Northern trades in the high 30s, Lucent in the 70s. Which would you rather own, even if LU is considered the "premier" outfit?
