Sorry David, I got involved in doing silly things like walking on the beach, mowing my long grass, and thinking about cabbages and queens. I haven't read this spread for four days. I'm fine, pondering the market as a cowboy would a stampeding herd of cattle, and trying to avoid the last round-up.

This is early Monday, and I believe fall begins today on the 21st. I wonder if that is an omen for Mr. Clinton, whose deposition will play on TV this morning. The Japanese stock market fell 2.76% to a twelve year low last night, their political parties can't arrive at an acceptable compromise that might remedy Japan's banking insolvency crisis, and their export surplus set another record. To be candid, Japan isn't likely to provide much support to get Asia out of the tank. I can't see any way our market should climb today, so the DOW will probably roar back to 8500. In my often errant view, it should be a fascinating day.

Surveying it all, I feel a bit as Nero must have felt as he fiddled while Rome burned. Well, it made a good story. Your DELL is still doing relatively well, but it isn't likely to reach the $84 1/2 number that will get you a free Big Mac and Pepsi for a while. IDTI won't go anywhere until the semiconductor industry begins to recover, and that should take some time. Stay well, enjoy your family, and walk the beach up there once in a while.
Regards, Sam
