Also notes that company brought public by "notorious penny stock house" Stratton Oakmont, whose two former principals recently pleaded guilty to federal money-laundering charges. (NKE) 33 7/8: Athletic footwear and apparel maker reported Q1 net of $0.56 a share, 8 cents better than the First Call estimate, vs year-ago profit of $0.85 a share. Sales fell 9% to $2.505 bln; worldwide future orders slipped 15%. Company says results were helped by lower than expected spending, but expects spending levels to return to normal levels in Q2. Nevertheless, Merrill Lynch taking opportunity to raise near-term rating from "neutral" to "accumulate." Maintains long-term "buy" rating. NKE shares fell 2 3/16 pts yesterday. Stock trading 1 pt higher on Instinet. 08:41 ET Imperial Credit Commercial Mortgage Investment Corp. (ICMI) 9: Real estate investment trust receives an unsolicited merger offer from Wilshire Real Estate Investment Trust Inc. (WREI). IMCI's board to review offer valued at $11.33 for each share of Imperial Credit, based on the $12.75 closing price of WREI's stock on September 16.
