That's a good one. My 4 year old, who will be 5 in about three weeks, had soccer "practice" last night and when it was over he was complaining that the other kids were bothering him and he couldn't concentrate. "I have to concentrate on the ball if I'm going to score, Daddy," he says. Even though I watched the whole practice, I got detailed, slow motion replays of his best plays when we got home.

The coach didn't have a whistle, which is a bit of a difficulty when trying to stop a gang of four and five year olds who are still going hard at it even though they are about 50 yards out of bounds. "Stop" just doesn't do it.

They tried to teach me soccer in 3rd grade. My memories are all traumatic. The only goal I ever scored was while I was goalie. D'oh.

Why is it, when the crowd is yelling "No No No!", it sounds like "Go Go Go!"?

(Not that that's happened to me.)
