Troubled brokerage HJ Meyers shuts doors - report
BOSTON, Sept 18 (Reuters) - Troubled brokerage HJ Meyers & Co Inc has shut its doors nationwide, the Boston Herald reported on Friday.
Only days after it had stop trading and making markets in more than 100 stocks, the Rochester, N.Y.-based firm told employees in 16 cities to pack up their belongings for good, the newspaper said.
Call to HJ Meyers seeking comment were not returned.
Clients were referred to the New York investment firm of SG Cowen, which told the Herald it would no longer clear trades for the brokerage house.
SG Cowen told Reuters Friday it was busy with phone calls from concerned investors.
Meyers, which was run by alumni from First Jersey Securities, a penny-stock brokerage that was found to have violated securities law, shut down its Boston office last summer.
Meyers came under fire from Massachusetts regulators for alleged high-pressure tactics used to sell risky stocks to investors.
The state's securities division's case against Meyers is still pending, the newspaper said.

I don't know if this affects RMIL or not.
If you didn't get your shares, I guess the SIPC steps in?????????????????????
